Welcome to the KBB 2020 Band & Orchestra Showcase, an online event which has taken the place of Auckland's annual KBB Music Festival for 2020 as a result of COVID-19 disruption.
School bands and orchestras around the Auckland region and beyond embarked on this large scale collaborative project to create and archive the fruits of their musical labours throughout the year. By bringing together these items from various schools it is hoped that the efforts of so many young New Zealand musicians will be shared and enjoyed by the widest possible audience.
Many of the groups participating in this online event have also opted to create a "Behind-the-scenes" chapter to their videos. There were no hard and fast guidelines given to participants about what these should look like, so they've come in many, varied forms.
