“The KBB Music Festival is a celebration of music, performed by some of New Zealand's finest young musicians. The festival attracts talented students from more than 55 schools across the greater Auckland region performing in secondary school orchestras, concert bands, jazz bands and chamber orchestras. Since it's inception in 1983 the KBB Music Festival has continued to grow to the point where its 43rd festival will see over 5000 students in 166 groups taking part. The festival is a wonderful coming together of students and teachers to share the results of countless hours of personal practice and group rehearsal. Every performance showcases the skills music demands of its players: hard work, cooperation, perseverance, empathy, understanding and more. For those of us listening we can delight in the abilities and joy of these wonderful young musicians and be grateful for their dedication and commitment. We look forward to seeing you at the next KBB Festival in August!”
