SOUNZ Centre for New Zealand Music and KBB Music Festival, with support from the Nicholas Tarling Charitable Trust, have opened applications for a New Zealand composer to write a brand new work for concert band, to be premiered by the 2027 KBB Honours Concert Band.
Applications close 11 September.
KBB Music Festival Student Composition Award, in partnership with SOUNZ Centre For New Zealand Music, is open to secondary school composers whose original work is being performed by an ensemble at the festival.
Entries will open early term two, 2027, but now is the time to start writing!
